We are on the waiting list with them?

They were very good to us. We saw quite a lot of therapists over time, but found one we both liked and trusted, who was fantastic and saw us through some very sticky times.

Great if you get a good counsellor, mine was fantastic and helped us put our marriage back together, long and very upsetting road though.

Agree that they're very good, if you can get the right person. We really like the counsellor who did our intial interview so requested that we wait until she had a free slot instead of taking the first available one and it's worked out well so far. We're several sessions in and have had so many really great breakthrough moments, that I don't know how we'd have been able to continue without it.

It is a long road though and you have to rehash old ground, to deal with it before moving on. Which I have found, seems to affect my DH far more than me, perhaps because I as a woman have dealt with it by talking with friends and MNetting. Whereas men, don't tend to talk about their feelings. I also find that DH goes very quiet for a day or so afterwards. If you beleive in 'Men are from Mars... ' theory. Its him going into his 'emotional cave' to mull things over. So I leave him to it. Things defintely feel very positive though and certainly moving in the direction, so certainly advocate it.

Best of luck.

Very bad experience I am afraid.
Worse then useless.
Glad others were helped.

Depends on the counsellor - I went to one once, by myself, who was a Relate one. Found her expensive and just, well, meh. When I caught her stifling a yawn during one session I decided not to waste any more money with her (yes, funny, even at the time, but FFS) - and had much more success with a non-Relate counsellor who was recommended by a friend of a friend, but asking for a personal recommendation is not for the easily embarrassed...
