Am I being mean?

Yesterday, my grandma told my mum that she hadn't seen me and the kids at all during the summer holidays and she was annoyed about it.

The thing is, normally I would have taken them down to see her a couple of times but at the moment she's living with my aunt as her own house flooded and my aunts flat is a tiny 2nd floor flat meaning noise etc has to be kept to a minimum.

My boys are VERY active and get bored very quickly and I know full well they would start to play up, run around and start fighting and that just stresses me out as well as annoys everyone else.

Apart from that, nobody EVER comes to see us, in the past year my grandma has been to my house maybe once or twice. A few weeks ago my aunt was off work for a week and so took my grandma wherever she wanted to go with the car and they didn't come here, nobody ever even phones me.

It just annoys me that I'm always expected to take my children to see other people when a) nobody bothers to come and see us and b) they get bored because there is nothing for them to do.

Am I being mean?

Yes I invite them all the time, I always ask them along to school plays, sports days, achievement assemblys etc and my grandma always says she's too tired. My mum has sometimes told my grandma that she is coming down to see me and would she like to come along...again she says she's too tired but the next day will go and visit her friend who lives miles away.

Sounds like grandma likes to have something to moan about.
