My pregnant sister is having problems with her husband to the point where he left yesterday. She has been ringing relate for the past couple of weeks but has not been able to get an appointment, they have told her again this morning to try ringing again next week. They need to do something urgently, has anyone got any ideas?

yes, there are many many couples counsellors out there.

BACP is a good starting point: BAC.co.uk

best is personal recommendation. if you want to CAT me go ahead.

Relate is probably going to be a lower cost option though.

This site is a directory of all the therapists. You can search by area, and it indicates whether they see couples or just individuals (most of them only see individuals, but I think some see couples).

I went to CAB for some advised and they recommended a local company called Mediation in Divorce who have proved to be very helpful. They do counselling and mediation.

Maybe your local CAB has some recommendations for "private" relationship counselling.

Agree BACP is also a good palce to start.

Thanks Paddlechick, can telephone the CAB after 2pm so will see if there are any local recommendations.
