My DH took me to Paris for my 21st and New York for my 30th. My actual birthday was while we were there so he took me to Tiffany's on 5th Ave and bought me a lovely necklace then somehow managed to get the staff in Tiffanys to sing Happy Birthday to me!!! Ahhhh

he proposed to me and gave me a ring pull from a can of coke ( yes thats how long ago) as my engagement ring.

its the naivity and innocence that make it a charming story - and yes - it was before the advert of a similar ilk - so it was original too.

after that it all went down hill

i get regular opening of doors
brew in bed

breakfast in bed


but money we aint got. so no flash jewellery stories here.

My DH proposed on a mountain whilst skiing in France... got down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring!

just after delivery of ds2,he came in the bathroom with me and washed me very gently, despite blood and everything.

he then wrapped me up in a fluffy dressing gown and kissed my head, and looked in my eyes.ive never seen anyone with so much love in their eyes.

When i had DS1 he got me some flowers , from the petrol station
















And got himself a 18 year old bottle of Malt whisky, as a present for himself for having a son

I don't get day-to-day romance, he tends to save it up for big gestures.

He did cover my side of the bed with red roses one valentines, however, when I woke up one of the thorns had cut my leg.

The thought was there I suppose.

Ok I got a sort of glazed over funny loving sort of look yesterday when I told my husband that the prostoglandin in sperm is more effective if taken through the gut....does that count

On a serious note, I think I would like a bit more romance. My DH doesn't actually do anything really wrong, he is very nice, I enjoy his company (in front room watching tv/I am in craft room on here) and I love him to bits.

I would really appreciate something soppy every now & then though.

My SIL/BIL do stuff like leave notes in their lunchboxes for each other. She wrote on his banana the other day which I know is corny but I thought was really sweet.

dh will get up with me when i'm sick in the night. he'll buy me some chocolate/wine/a magazine as a small (but hugely and enthusiastically appreciated by me) surprise treat here and there. if i say i'm going to have a bath he'll often get up there first and put tea lights out and make it nice for me. we've been together 13 years and have ds who is 16months.

yeah, he's okay i suppose
