Not sure what I want, help me organise my thoughts.

I have been a single parent since dd was 6 months old, she's now 9. It's a long time on my own, and, on the whole I like our life, I can't remember what a relationship is like, or how one works and me being married seems like it never happened. I've had the odd month long fling, well, 3 of those to be precise, which dd knew nothing of, and one 3 month thing who I did introduce to dd only to dump him a week later. I would like a boyfriend, I am lonely for someone and all the nice things that come with it. I've met someone and we have had a few dates, it's all very exciting and I'm enjoying his company a lot. But then, dd is off school, I've got some time off work and we have just had a few amazing days, and I can't stop the ' I don't want someone else with us' thoughts. We are very close, I love our time together and sometimes I don't want to share that or anyone intruding. But then I'm not sure that's healthy either and dd will get older and want to do less and less with me. And she wants me to have a boyfriend, and I really like this guy. I don't know, I'm seeing him in a few days and then we have lots of plans when dd goes off to her fathers for a few weeks, but then it will all come back when she returns. Can someone either tell me I'm being stupid or just offer any advice?
