Does anybody know?

I still believe nobody can ever replace Humph but am willing to be open minded until I have heard the new series

I think next Monday at 6.30pm

I love Stephen Fry, but it seems like such an safe choice.

Wouldlike to see someone a bit more random take over. We shall see.

Stephen Fry? Really? Noooo....

c'mon, Stephen Fry will be good at it - even if a safe / obvious choice?

So, what did we think then?

Would have gone better without a DS shouting over the punchlines

Not bad. Not sure TBH. Thought Fry was a wee bit too knowing, when the filth works best in complete innocence. But lots of people said lots of funny things...

I miss Humph.

Yes, RIP Humph

I thought that it was a mistake for S. Fry to have a script so simillar to Humph's. It sucked the Stephen Fry-ness out of Stephen Fry, and attempting to imitate Humph was never going to work, so we're left with someone who's neither one thing or the other. Does that make sense?

Victoria Wood was brill

Is it going to be Rob Bryden next week? Looking forward to that - I think he'll be more of himself maybe?

But they kind of have to have a similar script - get rid of the lovely Samantha and you might as well cancel Mornington Crescent

Rob Brydon should be better as chair than as a team member. He was so rubbish at the musical rounds - not funny at all. Can't help it, being Welsh, sings far too well to enter the spirit of it (unlike wossname, Jeremy Hardy unforgettably doing Thank You For the Music...).

Isn't Jack Dee going to be the third chair - one could perhaps say its a tri-humph-urate?

Stephen Fry was soem sort of Fry/Humph cross and didn't really work - still good but not great.

Rob Brydon can do innocence very well and Jack Dee has made a career of being grumpy, so may improve things.

That said early days - lets see how this evening goes.

On a slightly different note was listening to BBC Cambridge a few weeks ago when they were being very patroninsing about a poor little old lady who had written into the Andy Parker Show with Dear Mr. Show and had then rambled about rutting stags and Monarch of the Glen.

It was of course from a Mrs. Trellis of North Wales, they didn't get the joke, I did (nearly crashed the car) - so whoever did that, thank you so much.

Caught it yesterday with Mr Fry chairing. Thought he carried it off very well. There'll never be another Humph and I think everyone who listens has to get their head around him not being there

So pleased that the BBC decided to keep it going. I love it!

I'm going to reserve judgement for a while, but I agree that yesterday SF seemed to be doing an hommage to Humph which did neither of them any favours. I look forward to hearing more about Sven, though.
