What's going on with the afternoon play on R4 today?

Why does the Owen character have such a weird voice? what have i missed? It frightens me!

It's an adaptation of the Owen Meany (SP?) by John Irving and the central character just has a really weird voice! It's been running all week so you're coming in at the end which might be adding to your confusion! ;)

It's an adaptation of this book. I agree the voice is weird - so is the whole thing IMO!!

afternoon play is when I go on the R4 website and listen again to anything vaguely interesting!

I don't listen as such, it's just there in the background. The scary voice has been weirding me out all week! I looked up the actor in my confusion - apparently he also voiced Dobby the house elf so that may explain things ...

My dad would dearly love an Archers switch - click at 2pm!
