I love her, her show and almost everything about her. What a wonderful lady.

I like her very much. She's unguarded and articulate, but sometimes she talks too much and doesn't let the guest have enough space.

She's the jewel in the crown supposedly for BBC London which pays her a small fortune. They're trying to get more women to listen to the station in their 30s, 40s and 50s and Vanessa is central to that strategy.

I love Robert Elms for his music, but his London anoraky bus route stuff is boring as hell imo.

I used to adore Tessa Dunlop, but they cut her show. Pity. She's fab. Possibly my favourite ever radio presenter of all time. Ever.

i still mourn norman jay and hate the way radio london repeats alot of stuff on sundays, but i digress

ooo, yes I think Vanessa is fab. She's always surprisingly articulate and unjudgemental.

Agree about Robert Elms too, Spidermama - I used to love his show when London Live was GLR. Am I showing my age?

I love Vanessa too but can't stand Robert Elms. Used to like the chap a while before Vanessa, John Gaunt, who just didn't give a fig about what he said.

OMG I hated John Gaunt with a passion. I'm so glad he's gone!

But that's what was so great about John Gaunt - he made you want to chuck the radio at him and phone in to tell him what a twit he was!

I think her show is excellent. Her vocabulary is so extensive and she's incredibly articulate. I also like the way she can be so self-deprecating and she clearly has a lot of personal insight as well.

Robert Elms is the most pretentious man on the planet. Can't stand him.

John Gaunt - he was pretty vile and argumentative wasn't he. I seem to remember that he left under a cloud and did not hide his bitterness too well!

SEA - on what topics did you comment?

LoL
God, I didn't realise I wasn't the only one! (but feel a bit of a sucker now that I hear that the station is deliberately targeting me).

Anyway, one of the few good things bout my current unemployed status is that I get to listen to Vanessa everyday. And Robert Elms, Eddie Nestor and even Danny Baker's show have grown on me too.

Glad I'm in good company!

I used to listen to Radio London all the time but for the past 4 months or so haven't been near it, favouring R4
I did really like Vanessa and was thrilled that she read quite a few of my emails out (and seemed to remember me from previous emails !) and I rang in once..I sometimes liked Robert Elms, really for the music - sometimes his clever clogsness used to grate, and I loved Danny Baker esp with Amy Lame and the fabulous Baylen.. but Jo Good and assorted side kicks (esp the loathsome Jono) have driven me away.

I love Vanessa's show - I've converted my DH and my mum too.

I find her too manic on TV, but on radio she's warm, wise and witty.
I've called in a few times to talk about moth infestations, Primark and downgrading your supermarket.
I like Robert Elms - his love for London shines through.
Danny Baker has grown on me.
Can't bear Jo Good - she's too vapid for my tastes.

I completely agree Vanessa is all the good things everyone has said. love the woman. Eddie Nestor's voice irritates me, and his attitude. With a capital A. Robert Elms grows on me, Danny I love.... when he and David Kwo giggle is good. I remember listening to Chris Evans on Sat mornings on GLR..and i used to love it when Gideon Coe did the breakfast show with various women. Jackie Brambles, bizarrely, though i can't watch her now.
