P&T Vibe - Sleeping Bag or Cocoon

There isn't a lot of information about these 2 products on the P&T site. I'm wondering up to what age each can be used for?

DS2 will be about 4mths when our winter hits (-40), and don't know which one will be warmer, or more useful. I'll probably have a bike trailer/jogger thing as well, so will want to use it in that too.

Any experiences? TIA

Sleeping Bag or Cocoon

don't know about the vibe but on the E3 the cocoon has a very short life span and the sleeping bag is a footmuff that lasts until about age 3

Thanks for that Hevster, sounds like the sleeping bag will be more practical in the long run.

Cocoon only good for 4-6 mths depending on size of baby, mine quickly outgrew it

I used the sleeping bag once the child was in the seat as opposed to lying flat

I would agree that the sleeping bag has a longer lifespan BUT having said that, I'd still go for the cocoon first, though it does depend on your setup.

Personally I found the cocoon a god-send in cold weather because you could put the baby down in it - so I would use it to take DS2 down to the car etc, and it didn't matter if the ground was wet or snowy, you could still set him down long enough to get your keys out, unload child 1 etc.

It is also great for cafes, restaurants and visiting, because you can take the sleeping child out of the buggy still in the cocoon and put him under the table or whatever, while leaving the buggy outside or folding it. The P&T is pretty bulky, and few cafes round our way had room for it. Without the cocoon it would have meant a choice between waking the baby or leaving it in the buggy.

It is also a great travel cot for those early few months, if you ever stay away from home.

Well worth the investment, IMO, even for just those 4-6 months.

the sleeping bag is a footmuff (tho' an ace one, it has to be said).

the cocoon is a newborn travel cot, used for 0-6 months when your baby lying flat in buggy. not meant for warmth but really blooming useful. i would def recommend.

have you looked into kaisers footmuffs? they fit P&T and are meant for properly cold conditions

Cocoon is like some said a newborn lie flat cot, very good but in cold weather you wuold need a blanket with it, once the baby grows out of it at about 4-5 months depending on size and goes in the doubles seat you can use the sleeping bag which is a very cosy footmuff, you can wrap them right up to their heads if you want.

TBH I would get both but see if you can get a secondhand cocoon loads of people sell them for their short life span.
