Baby Jogger City Mini or Micro??

Am very tempted to buy either the Mini or Micro Baby Jogger. I have had a M&P Pliko for the past 4 years, and it is starting to fall apart. Now DS is 1, there is no need to have a travel system, and I am desperate to get something more lightweight, but still compact and easy to fold.

Not sure whether to go for the Mini or Micro. They both seem to fold very compactly. Am wondering if the Mini os overkill if I am only going to need a stroller, or whether the Micro might not stand up to a lot of use, including going up and down a steep hill daily??

The only negatives I have heard about both pushchairs was that the seating position isn't great. What do you think?

oh I am having the same struggle!

Can you go and see them in rl? I went into john lewis and had a play with both and I have to say if i could get it i would go for the mini.

Having said that I have the micro sat in two different sites shopping baskets as i type

Micro is lighter, 7.7kg versus 7kg, wheels are smaller, smaller hood (2 panel versus 3), the recline is alot less and the harness straps are not adjustable. Both lovely to push with a nice handle height.

Mini is out of stock everywhere I have looked, and I have some vougher codes for the micro if you want them?

oh and most important question - what colour are you thinking of?

Voucher codes would be great.
Am thinking red. Don't want to go for something to boy-ish in case we want to sell it again in a year or so on ebay.
What do you think about the seating position - it seems quite reclined, and my DS loves to sit forward.

Websites Pramworld and Precious little Ones are meant to be quite good for cheaper prices, but you have to call them, which I haven't done yet.

Have seen the Micro in JL and liked it, apart from the straps. The mini is also good (my friend has one) but the seating position is not very upright. Decisions, decisions....

City mini, as the hood comes down like a sun shade and the wheels are bigger.

i could'nt try DS out in either as he was fast asleep at the time. If you are concerned about the upright position would the bumper bar help (so they can lean forward a little)?

Tesco have the micro in red and lime for £149, there was a £10 off code plus double club card points and free to pick up in store.

Very have the charcoal and lime / yellow reduced to £134 and I have a £30 off £60 spend and buy now pay april 2011 code.

I am thinking of getting the charcoal so blue footmuffs etc would go ok but DH wants the clubcard points - he will then moan when he has to push a lime buggy!

I may check out PLO aswell. oh and john lewis said it would be end of the month before the bjcm is back in stock

I think the Mini is worth the extra - mainly because of the huge sun hood.

Yes the seat is a little more reclined than I would have liked but it is a lot better than many other 3 wheelers I have seen. I have a 1 and a 2 years old and both seem happy in my Mini. And yes the bumper bar does help - mine both sit themselves upright and just hold onto the bar.

I have the micro and absolutely love it, i always used to have 2-3 prams atone time until i got this.
The recline is really amplr tbh my DD is 17 month and sleeps comfotble in it.

I went for the micro for the smalr wheels and the factthati is more compact and feels like a pushchair and not a pram

I am a massive massive fan of the micro

I have the charcoal, pimped it up slightly with pink harness pads and a girly parasol and it looks fab x

I looked at them both in John Lewis. I think it really depends how old your ds is and if you are thinking of having another dc. I preferred the micro but decided against it because it hardly reclines at all so it's only suitable once the child is quite grown up and doesn't need to lay back / doesn't sleep much in the buggy. Other than that it is much smaller and more compact which I thought was good.

Nicola I am avoiding anymore of your buggy related posts as I have a charcoal micro sat in the kitchen

obviously I am not going to pimp it in pink for ds but I am now looking at accessories for it.

Do you have any of the official baby jogger accessories for it? oh and what bag do you use on it?

I have just (on impulse) got a micro and realised I didnt have a clue what the differences were!

I have a zia and wanted a zapp as she always slouches in the zia and cries - she much prefers to sit up so after reading the above have I gone for the right choice?

I got a charcoal one and its getting delivered next week (unless I panic and cancel lol)
