i was using my silvercross pop pram today purchased from mothercare and the bar on the side just snapped making the pram fold in on itself squasing my ds. the solid bar just sheared in half with all jaggered edges which came through the fabric. ds was unhurt but trousers ripped. god knows what would of happened if he was wearing shorts. how the hell a steel bar can break like that i dont know. so just a warning to anyone thinking of buying one.

My silver cross dazzle fell apart today!

It was my second buggy so it was used at most once a month, Ive always hated it and had nothing but problems with it. It felt cheap and flimsy to push and was hard to steer. It was returned for a repair within a couple of weeks because the seat locked in to an upright position and at the same time the break slipped so it kept locking when I was using it.

Today I got it out to use it and it wouldn't open. When I looked one of the screws on the cross bar had worked loose so it was completely out. I dread to think what would have happened if the baby had been in it when the screw had come out because it would have closed with her in it!

I took it back to John Lewis who gave me a refund and got an xt and I still had £10 change. The woman at JL said they hadn't had any problems with them and I must have just been unlucky, but they have stopped selling them and a quick google shows that a lot of other people have had problems with this buggy.

I will never use a silver cross again, and I will be emailing them. Did you have much luck with them?

I hope my xt is better!

Eek, I bought one a couple of months back, haven't really used it yet. Doesn't sound good.

This is the new silver cross, after they went into liquidation in 2004 i think. Not the same company as our parents and grandparents knew.
