Easy to fold double buggy for baby and toddler

I'd really like a city mini double, as I have the single and it's the best pushchair I've ever used!

But I just don't think we can afford a double, even second hand they seem to be about £200!

So I'm looking for a substitute, but no idea what to go for. I'll probably buy second hand as I can't see us needing it for long. DD will be 2.5 when baby is born in November, so I'll probably only need it through the winter months to keep them both dry on the school run, shopping trips, etc.
It will need to be something that folds/unfolds quickly and easily being winter (I live in Wales, winter means rain!) so we don't all get drenched, easy to push with one hand so I can hold DS's hand across the car park at school, and not too heavy so I can lift it in and out of the boot.

Please help! Any suggestions welcome Smile

So you want a one piece fold? I was going to suggest the red kite twini but it's not far off £200 either. Fits the bill though, light, easy to fold, should be able to steer one handed (I'm guessing a bit there, I have the single version). An umbrella fold will be hard to push one handed, some impossible. There is a double graco with a single handle that's pretty cheap, other than that I'm a bit stuck. I have definitely seen bjcmd s for less than £200 but I suppose right place right time.

Thanks both. MrsGrumble I have considered a Phil and Teds, but my friend has one and I'm not keen at all, I'd prefer them to be side by side I think.
Ihateparties yes one piece fold is a must. I agree, an umbrella fold wouldn't be practical one handed - the singles are difficult enough!
I will keep looking for a bargain bjcm, I'm on ebay every few days, living in hope Grin
The double Graco you mention, I think I've seen them for around £40, but no idea what they're like.

I've really been spoilt with my bjcm single I think!

Probably, there are bargain ones but some might be quite old now so you'd need to check them, bj spares like wheels can be surprisingly expensive. What about an older nipper? If width isn't a big issue and you have a big enough car boot you can't beat it for easy to push.

A few friends of mine bought an Obaby Zezu on ebay for about £90 then bought the tandem kit for £120 which came with a toddler seat, buggy board and handle for the child using the buggy board.

Sit on Ebay, or join one of the Baby Jogger selling boards on Facebook. They often pop up cheap for an older model (not much difference really!)
