Maclaren Quest - removing the seat cover

I have just bought a second-hand Maclaren Quest and would like to put the covers in the washing machine. But the lower straps seem to be fixed to the frame (by a kind of nail) so I can't figure out how to remove the cover. (It must be an older model, and the instructions on the Maclaren website are for the current model, which has a different fixture for the lower straps.)

The waist straps don't come off, you thread them through the seat fabric and take the fabric off. The wasn't straps stay attached to the frame
