Best travel system on a budget!?? Help!!

Hi,

I'm due my first baby in November so am new to all this.

We are on a budget and was looking at the cosatto giggle travel system, I've read some bad reviews of it collapsing with the baby inside. The reviews are from the very beginning of this year and previous. Does anyone have any feedback to if this problem has been resolved.

Can't anyone else recommend a good travel system, that's easy to use, lightweight enough that you want to use it when they get bigger rather than swap to a stroller? My partner is 6"4 so needs to have an adjustable handle really as I'm 5"6!

My friend's Giggle collapsed on her the other day, Cosatto are denying there's a problem. I would avoid if I were you.
I love my Baby Jogger City Mini. Used from birth with my second, and DS1 (almost 4) likes to hitch a ride when he can.

The Graco Evo is worth a look.

The evo is a good one, so is the joie chrome, which has an adjustable handle so may work better for the height difference. I'm not sure what sort of budget you're talking about exactly but the oyster 2 is getting a lot of good reports too.

I had a silver cross one with a free car seat. The handle was adjustable too for different heights

Second vote for the Graco Evo - we've found it really sturdy and easy to use. It was about £350 with the car seat I think. Your DH should try it though, as I'm not sure it will be tall enough for a 6' 4'' height.

Depending on the budget I would suggest looking at the mothercare Xpedior, £250 all in including car seat. Evo is also a good shout.

my inclination would be to get a good quality frame second hand and invest in a nice new carseat for it...

I just got the obaby zezu, which is quite reasonable. Baby hasn't arrived yet, but from putting it together and playing about with it, I'm really pleased with it so far. The cheapest I found it for was on Amazon, far cheaper than some other places!

I'd look into NCT New Sales. The next round are in early autumn and they are very strict about the quality if goods they accept. They don't sell car seats, but pushchair/pram sellers who have a compatible car seat often leave a note on the pushchair to say so.

3rd vote for the zoom AND if anything does hazard to go wrong m&p are straight on it with a replacement - which i thought was great! can't believe how cheap it is now tho £650 two years ago against £300 now, crazy!

Babyjogger City Mini GT. Light, adjustable handle, one hand fold and will see you through til child is out of pushchairs. You can get the carrycot on eBay for £40 or so as they hardly get used. It's compatible with a maxi cosi car seat.

Get a decent brand like Babyjogger or Bugaboo second hand. We got a year old Bee for £250 and it's going strong after almost two years and what feels like 100,000 miles (we lived in London without a car for most of that). Bugaboo is a good bet second hand, because you can replace parts yourself, buying on their website for reasonable cost.

Mamas and papas zoom fan here too. The price is amazing. That wasn't the main driver for us as mil paid, but I chose it as it ticked all the boxes I was looking for and looks good too.
The handle isn't adjustable but 6 foot DP doesn't have an issue with the height.

the zoom handle is adjustable, there's a circle button either side where the foam meets the chassis - press them in tandem and choose your height.

6ft4 DP refers to the highest one as 'dad mode'

Don't go for the silvercross 3d. I hated it. It was really heavy and was huge when it was folded.
Yy to the pp who said to buy a really good frame second hand and buy a new car seat.

You can get a new Babyjogger inside £250 if you hunt out online bargains rather than shopping at john Lewis! Or there's a good FB group with lots of second hand ones.

My system was maxi cosi mura and came in at 370 for the frame, pram, carrycot and car seat a year and half ago. So not as cheap as the cosatto but I still think a pretty good price. Very happy with it, looks great after that time and has been in daily use. Will be put to good use if we have a second one in the coming years...

yep. took me a while. i think i thought it was just for packing it down neater despite being told in the shop it did it.

in fact with a foots height difference it was one of the selling points - forgot that for a while tho

yeah, you can lift it up too for taller pushers so the handle is straight rather than bent
