Best Tandem Double Buggy?

We're looking to change our Mountain Buggy Swift for a tandem/double buggy. I've been looking at the icandy Peach and the Baby Jogger City Select. I need something that can handle off road walks with our lab, has a basket you can get to in double mode and that's not too wide or huge as we live in a city with a terrace house. Also need it for a newborn + toddler but also good as a single pram. Any suggestions??

Hello!

We've noticed that this thread is quite old now, and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing the top-performing pushchairs on the market, including both twin and tandem, to find the best double buggy for 2019.

Hope this helps! Flowers

The peach is no good off road.. The select I genuinely don't know but I'm not optimistic given how heavy it can be to handle under normal pavement circumstances.

My votes are the non tandem mb duet, the mb +one or the tfk joggster twist with multi x carrycot and buddyseat, a Phil and teds navigator perhaps. There are others that will be fine on paths but not so much off path.

I have to say that my peach has been great off-road, because it doesn't have air filled tyres the rubber material has been great as no punctures! Plus the suspension is on all 4 wheels which really helps.

I've just ordered the icandy apple 2 pear for my toddler and newborn (due December)

All 3 shops recommend this revamped apple pram over the new peach 3. Apparently the old apple was a bit rubbish.

If you want to keep your single pushchair and have an attachable extra seat for the older child, have you thought of getting a buggy board to attach to your existing pushchair and then adding the Buggypod Perle (available from november)? That way, your elder child can use Perle as his seat and then, when he gets older, he might want to stand on the buggy board. The Perle also acts as a booster seat in restaurants or at home. You can see the Perle at //www.buggypod.com.

I agree with Miaow and Parties. I think that although the Peach is superb, it won't stand up to muddy walks especially as the children get older. It would be fine on a bit of grass. I think you would be wise to treat a double pushchair as a rental, and buy something to get you through the newborn phase, and then have a rethink once the baby comes out of the carrycot stage. I agree with Parties suggestions of the TFK or Mountain Buggy +One. You may wish to look at the MB Duet too, although its not as easy to handle with different weights on each side. If you look at P&Ts - be quite critical about them. They aren't all the same, and some like the Verve and Promenade are not cut out for off road use. I would be getting something like an old Sport or Classic.
