79 cm wide double - too wide?

We have just come across the Emmaljunga Double Viking as a possible alternative to the Bugaboo Donkey or Stroll Air My Duo. We are really impressed with it but I'm a bit worried about the width. DH is thinking it will be fine. We have a 78cm wide one we can borrow to test out that it will fit into our apartment etc. Buses won't be a problem where we live.
Where else might I have problems with this width? There must be a reason the other side by sides try to stay below 75??

I wrote a long, diplomatic post.

Lost it.

So left with this. Yes. Too wide!

I have the Baby Jogger City Mini double which I think is 76cm wide and I've never had a problem with getting it in, out or around anything. Afaik, it's the width of a standard wheelchair, so it should be able to get anywhere a wheelchair can (although I'm not sure where I heard that, so open to correction).

I think that's right, so modern doors no issue, older ones... Not so good. I had a city mini double too and there were lots of places where I live that I couldn't get in. My own Victorian front door being a major one Grin

Out n about 360 nipper double (v3) is 72cm wide and fits though everywhere. I have it for my 15 month old and 10 week old and it's fab!

Probably.

Although the donkey is probably that wide f you are using the maxi cosi adaptors - they stick out beyond the chassis. We got stuck in a car park once having to take the whole thing apart to fit through a door. I'm still bitter.

BJCM is fab.

All the Emmaljunga prams are a bit ugly, sorry!

A tandem nipper would actually be amazing.

My icandy peach2 is 60cm wide even when it's a double so will fit through most small spaces! 79cm is too wide for my needs but I suppose it depends on your situation

As others have said, it depends on your situation! Get measuring doors as you go through them! Check it will fit into your car boot too because anything over 76cms in my car was tricky. I have managed fine with a wide double pushchair, but it was mainly in shopping malls or supermarkets :) Hopeless at the chemist or bank!
