Advice wanted: Baby Jogger GT or UppaVista Baby

Hi there,

I am newish to MN and a FTM - and this whole buying for baby is a complete minefield.

I really like the Baby Jogger GT - a friend has one which she loves, they're easy to fold and lightweight, but the assistants at John Lewis don't seem to like it as the baby would face away from me, which doesn't bother me actually. The carry cot is also small.

One of JL's option was the UppaVista - which is a good price and very spacious - but it took me several attempts to fold it and is a lot heavier.

I should mention, that I live in the countryside - and I will mostly be driving, although I do need to consider country roads for walks.

Do any of you lovely ladies have one of these models? What are your thoughts honestly?

Thanks in advance.

I love my Uppababy Vista... used it LOADS until my DD was about 2 and wanted to walk everywhere...

The big wheels are great to go for walks, i went for long walks in the heath and mud and stuff...

it's not that heavy, and when you get the hang it's esy to fold. i live in a top floor flat so had to fold it and carry up stairs every single day...

and i loved to have my daughter facing me, it helps to talk to them and their language development too, we faced her forward at 17 months at her request.

I've got the city mini GT for my 8 month old and it is a great pushchair but i missed him parent facing so have just ordered the baby jogger city mini versa. Very similar to the vista but with a one hand compact foldfold in parent or forward facing. Its on offer at very.co.uk for £279.
Have a look in bestbuggy.co.UK to compare them

Thank you Tiny and N.
BestBuggy rates them both - interesting though was the recent survey where most mothers, if they were doing it again - would go for a Baby Jogger.

I love parent facing but for you, in and out of the car and living rurally I would absolutely go for the city mini gt. The new baby jogger carrycot should be available pretty soon, seemingly it's larger than the current compact one.

The vista is also fab but very large, folding and lifting it all the time would drive me insane. For some it would be worth the extra hassle. All depends what's most important to you. Smile

I would consider and easywalker mosey or mini too, although not totally simple both are robust smallish options.

I'm torn similarly between the bjcm Gt and the vista or versa, because of the parent facing issue. I am not fussed about language development but just worry I'll want to see them more! I am looking to get the carrycot too and wish they'd hurry up and release the new baby jogger one so I can find out if it's worth it or not! We do have space in the house and car for the vista but I just like the idea of just one pushchair seeing us all the way through. It's so hard the first time, I just don't know what / how we'll be spending our days!
