Pushchair from birth to fit in boot of small car?

I have a Stokke Explory which I love and which fits well in the boot of my car. However I am flying home to my parents in a couple of weeks. I don't want to take my Explory as it won't fit in their boot (bmw 1 series). I want to buy a second hand pushchair that can be used from birth till about 3 years (or like the explory has a carry cot and a normal seat). O and ideally I would also like to be able to use the maxi cosi with it. So, any of you Mums have small boots? Which pushchair do you use?

The new maxi cosi loola would fit in almost any boot imo but you won't get a second hand one yet, it's too new. There willbe others that fit if disassembled, ie seats and wheels removed. A bugaboo bee/bee plus would probably fit.

If you don't mind a pushchair that only faces forward then there are more options. I don't know what shape a 1 series boot is specifically, if long and fairly thin/shallow then an umbrella fold may fit best , if it's deeper and shorter then something that folds in half like a baby jogger city mini may work best.

I'm not quite sure what the boot shape is, but it's not very deep. It is a hatchback so easy to remove parcel shelf. Don't mind taking the seat off and folding, but do not want to have to take the wheels off. Too much work and I will be doing a lot of visits when I'm home to see family and friends. Hence why I want a carry cot so my little mermaid can lie flat and sleep. She will be about 2.5 months so still a bit too little for the other type of seats I think. I don't mind front facing, but do prefer rear facing tbh.

Hmm does the zapp extra have a pram top part? It fits your other criteria.

I think I'd just buy a pop up carry cot to use for proper naps/sleeps anything with a carry cot is going to take up a lot of room...

City jogger mini with maxi cosi adapters is what we have. Suitable from birth to about 2.5yrs iirc, fits in our small boot and it's been around a while so I assume there are second hand ones.

BJCM is very easy if you do have to pop the wheels off, but if the parcel shelf is removable that's not an issue. The only thing is you need to take the main seat part off to put the maxi cosi adapters on but if you're using a hard carrycot with it that's not an issue. A soft carrycot would go on with the seat and be rear facing but once they're out the carrycot it's front facing only.

It can lie flat for use from birth though.

Sorry, just reread and seen you want a carry cot. The city jogger doesn't have that but the back reclines to a near flat surface. You'd still have to strap her in though.

Nom I've never had to take the seat off in order to put the maxi cosi adapters on? We are talking about the car seat adapters, yes?
I've put BJCM in a BMW 1 series, and haven't had to remove the wheels or the parcel shelf.

Suspect Nom means you'd have to take a carrycot off to put the car seat on. Agree with you the normal forward facing seat doesn't / can't come off.

We've got a mama and papas zoom which fits in our 1 series boot. It comes with a carry cot, car seat and normal seat and I find it pretty good. The 1 series boot is awkward shape in the 3 door version

Maclaren Techno XLR is suitable from birth and also has a carrycot for newborns if you'd rather not put them on the (flat) pushchair itself. Ours fits in our Polo boot but only with the 'roof' bit (what is it called?!) off.

Maybe I have a really old version? My fabric seat does detach and I don't have the pin style adapters for the soft carrycot, I have that hard carrycot. May have to investigate this for DC2...

Anyone know if you can buy the adapters separately?

I just YouTubed it and looks like they have different adapters now! Mine clipped onto the frame itself and you can't fit it onto the city mini double, but if you can attach the carseat to a BJCM double then I might need to get me one of them!

I don't think they sell Mama's and Papa's in the Netherlands (which is where my parents live) so I'll keep on looking. I have managed to find a shop close to my Mums where they sell and buy second hand prams and pushchairs. I think I will either send my Mum to get one, or wait till I'm there myself and go there. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. It looks like I will be travelling on my own so want to make sure I have everything planned out and can hopefully travel hassle free.
