Buggy that fits in a Porsche ....

Queenie68 · 30/06/2013 22:45

My husbands mid life crisis has resulted in him purchasing his longed for Porsche carrera... Which is fine but he didn't give much thought into where the buggy can go :)) we have a heavy duty 3 wheeler & last week took DD out in the car & took our sling but we need to get a more permanent solution. My SIL has just got the baby zen which folds so small it can go as hand luggage but its soooo expensive ! Any ideas gratefully received please

Grin at the price of porsche compared to price of babyzen yoyo. How small is the boot, if you can give some dimensions I'm sure there will be cheaper stuff that will fit.. assuming it's not reeeeeally tiny. Which it may well be. Hmmm.

Also how old is dd and do you have any other requirements other than it be small folding?

I saw something called a micralite I think. Looked pretty small folded.

Petit Star Zia. Folds down enough to go behind the drivers seat in the footwell and can often be foubd second hand on Gumtree for £40.

I think you need to either get your own car, or a new husband.

A child fits in a Porsche, but not the childs car seat..... My friend has a Porsche (and a large family BMW), the kids can fit in the back fine, now the youngest is not in a car seat any more.

If the child is young enough to need a buggy surely they also need a car seat?

Ok...ok...I knew I was setting myself up for ridicule :)) yes we have a 7 seater family car but on his day off if we want to go out just the 3 of us... Was just wondering.... Btw DD is 16 wks & her carseat from the 3in1 system fits fine behind passenger seat. Thanks for the tips will check them out.

You have a 7 seater for three of you? You're not helping yourself here, you know Grin

You can get car seats in a Porsche. They sell their own if your ones don't fit.

Surely any umbrella fold buggy will fit - I thought the boots were big enough for a set of golf clubs.

The Porsche will mean that the OP can do less ferrying of the children - mine would so much rather travel in a Porsche (which I don't like driving) that they badger daddy to run them about rather than me!

Not sure why you're worrying about the price of buggy when you have several children and can afford a Porsche, you can't be hard up. I would just but the small buggy or put it on a roof rack.

Grin at this thread. If he can have a Porsche you can surely have a yoyo?

You can't fit a yoyo in a Porsche? Blimey! We can fit a penguin AND a wagon wheel in our Saab, much more practical car.

We've got a Quinny zapp which we got on gumtree for £30 because it folded small enough to go as hand luggage. Teeny tiny. But crap-poor DD was bolt upright, no recline, as soon as they fall asleep it's cricked necks a go-go.

Oh just saw age of your DD. our maxi cosi baby car seat fits on the Quinny frame. V useful in that format! That frame on its own would seriously fit under your own feet in the front seat. I'd get that and use a la travel system while she's tiny

My DSis had your exact same "problem" Grin bad they fitted a Quinny Zapp in a Porsche. Not sure how much she'd rate it as a pram.

When your baby is just a tiny bit older I'd splash out on a yoyo. Tell your DH it's less than the cost of a tyre!
