Is it too late for a Bugaboo?

I am probably being very silly, but have always hankered after a Bugaboo Cameleon (good reviews from users, love the colours & styling etc). My DS is already 1 year old though, so would it be a huge waste of money to get one now? I'm not sure how long they last for size/age wise and DS is reasonably tall for his age. I did try the Bee but wasn't keen - it felt a bit too low and rickety and I much prefer the look of the Cameleon.

Or...am I better off waiting and getting a Bugaboo when we have DC2 (hopefully in about 2.5 years time) by which time I will be able to consider the Bugaboo Buffalo too?!

I wouldn't do it personally but if you are desperate for one then they do hold their value well so you can always sell on and then get the Buffalo later if you want it.

If you want one, and have the money, then indulge! I bought my second one last year when my LO was two and loved it. See it as a rental - buy wisely and sell well and you should recoup a lot of your money (I made a profit on my first one).

Fingers crossed I am seeing the Buffalo tomorrow. I am sooooooooo excited!!

If I were you I would buy now. I had exactly the same quandary when my DD was one. I walk everywhere and long distances, I should have bought it then as when it came to my having DC2 I thought it too expensive to buy for one child and bought the Bee instead, I love me Bee but would have loved to have had the Cameleon for the pair of them.

Buy one 2nd hand and then sell it again, will cost you for little that way.

Tiggy - Let me know what the buffalo is like!!

Get it. I have never looked back since having ours (since DS was about 15 months). Agree waiting for the buffalo is a temptation but do you really need the extra weight bearing/ off roading capacity?

Ooh am very tempted now, thought I might be talked out of it! I'll have a look and see if there are any good deals - I normally prefer to buy new as have had a couple of bad experiences on ebay. Chocolatemartini I probably don't need the off road capability of the Buffalo, but I did like the one piece fold. Will look forward to hearing what you think of it Tiggy!

Oh yes the one piece fold is good but does look bulky. I think the cam folded and seat stacked on top would be smaller but don't have measurements. Tiggy might know!

Nooooo surprisingly the Cam is folded is bigger!! I was amazed!! Scroll down. The seat size is the same height as the Cam, but wider.

I certainly need the extra weight bearing, off road capacity for my non walking 3 year old :)

I absolutely am ordering a Buffalo!! I have had 2 Donkeys and 2 Cam's and for me its the perfect mix of the two. I love it! Its great to have seen it IRL :)

Oh this is not a good post!! I've been umming about getting the Bugaboo for a while. My Lo is nearly 7 months and I'm pushing about a tank. I have the bee but I don't like using it when I'm out all day as I like to have something a little more solid. Soooo if I get the jist of this...you'd say it's definitely a good time to get a Cameleon and 7months isn't too old for one??

7 months is definitely not too late to get a Cameleon (or a Buffalo!) I bought a Cam for my 2 year old last year, and he's getting a Buffalo this year :)

I dithered for too long on the Buffalo and it's now sold out on the John Lewis website! Oh well, DH would not have been impressed...

What about another place? Website? I'm not sure what to do about the Cameleon, I'm worried he's going to outgrow it really quickly!! To many decisions...

Its sold out :o
I would phone some independent retailers because they apparently are getting stock at the same time although I am not holding my breath. I know some people have placed orders this weekend, and there is a possibility that JL have been allocated X amount of stock and the independents Y amount. JL with other brands, take on a certain allocation in their warehouse. So I would phone around and ask some questions. I ordered mine from Nurseryland on Friday so hopefully it will arrive....they didnt seem to think there would be an issue. I will seriously cry if there is!

I wouldn't bother. I felt the same. I bought a frog last week and sold it on within 24 hours. I hated it. I've had three Bees and loved them but the set up of the cam/frog sucks. It was like a giant, rather crappy jigsaw puzzle. The seat position was awful. I couldn't wait to get rid of it! Definitely staying with baby jogger now

Mummyandlittleme allow you to per order? But I don't know if that would be of any help?.

Re cameleon, I thinks the seat is bigger on the cameleon than on the frog? Possibly? It's a tough call between buying a new one of picking one up 2nd hand. We wouldn't need to fold it down as I have the bee for when I go in the car. But for walking, which is what I do quite a lot, I think the cameleon would hit the mark!!

Back to the buffalo, I see they won't be selling it on their own website for some time! I'd try the website I mentioned above, although if you have to old on longer you may end up re thinking through the purchase!!! Hehe. What about Mamas and Papas will they be selling any? I know they stock the cameleon etc.

Thanks all who gave advice Smile the Buffalo came back in stock on John Lewis website for pre orders, so have gone ahead! Figured I might as well get it now so I can get use out of it for DS and then for DC2 with a buggy board in a couple of years time.

Good work!!! I am jealous :) I'm still in two minds about what to do! Surely I can't have three pushchairs for one baby? Maybe I'll have to make do with what I have :( sob sob...
