Uppababy vista carrycot stand - alternative?!

Hi! I have bought the Uppababy vista and my baby is due next month, I have a couple of questions! Firstly I plan to use the carrycot for sleeping downstairs and at friends but the carrycot stand for that make is ridiculously expensive! The only other stand I have seen mentioned on here is the jolly jumper? It seems you can only get that in America though or i cant find where in Britain??
Also do I need to get another mattress for the carrycot for sleeping at night? I hadn't even considered that!...Any help or tips would be amazing!

I dont think you need another mattress for overnight sleeping with the Vista, but the best place to ask is Uppababy themselves. I know the Vista carrycot base is really well ventilated - theres even a section of fabric you can remove.
You may not be able to get the carrycot stand here - again something to ask. I know iCandy say their carrycots have to be put on a firm surface eg a floor not a stand or a bed. So again, I would make really sure what Uppababy themselves recommend here under UK safety standards.

BTW - speak to Uppababy in the UK not the US. Their customer service is great.

Do you need a stand? Can't you just put the brakes on?!

Genuine question - I'm planning on getting an uppababy vista and was intending for the baby just to sleep in the pram downstairs during the day ...

Yeah good point I will get in touch with them. That's good if I don't need a mattress though.
Yeah I was going to do that too but then I started thinking that if I had been pushing the pram in the country and it was dirty then it may not be the best to have it on carpets and stuff...

We just put the brake on, but then our baby was a projectile vomiter, so we're just planning to replace the carpet in a few years/if we need to sell!

Vista bassinet and mattress is suitable for baby to sleep in at night,DD loved it until she outgrew it at 4 months old. We just put it on the floor when we were in the house, she was a winter baby and weather was awful but it didn't really get dirty underneath as the huge basket takes the splashback from puddles etc.

Hi, we got the stand but never used it. DS needed pushing to go off to sleep anyway but the stand takes up as much room as the buggy does and then you have the hassle of swapping over.

plus you're right it is expensive!

we got a generic moses basket stand to put the carrycot on and it worked a treat!

Bought a Moses basket stand at a charity shop for a fiver - works brilliantly!

Hi there,

Does anyone know of an alternative to the expensive uppababy bassinet cot stand?
I'd prefer not to bring the chassis into the house as I keep having to clean the wheels after our daily walk.
Can anyone recommend a specific alternative that they have tried?

Thanks
