According to practical pushchairs. Can't decide whether to pre order now or see what other people think of the v3.

Just before I'm due, will have to check reviews :)

I hope the harnesses are smaller. The V2 ones are so huge that they dont fit a 4 year old. They simply are not safe IMHO. Fingers crossed the V3 ones are better.

I'm currently very tempted by the V2 (single) and was probably going to get it in the next week or so, but now I want to know if it's worth waiting for the V3 or not!! Main use - serious off-road for a 2 year old.

Update - I bought the V2 single today. Whilst I was in the shop I asked about the V3, and they gave the manufacturer a call. There has been no marketing information officially released yet, so Practical Pushchairs are jumping the gun. Anyway, what they they told me was that the main difference is the brighter colours and some stuff with the canopy (zips instead or similar). Obviously there may be more but it didn't sound hugely significant so I went for the V2 rather than waiting.

I spoke to a lady from out n about randomly (she was in a shop demoing the new smart) and she said the same, she wasn't sure but didn't think there were going to be any major changes on the v3. I was asking about the double and carrycot compatibility mainly.

Just to let you know that I've just bought a v3 (72cms wide) - yet to unpack it but just wanted to let you know they are on sale!

Ooh is it definitely a v3? The more recent v2s are 72cm also.

shaktar · 12/05/2013 20:25

Oh b*gger - I just presumed it was as it was 72 cms.
I am ridiculously pleased with it as it means we don't have to buy a new car - I was stunned when it fitted in the boot of our Corsa - and just wanted to share the news.
I don't know how to tell if its v3 or not, I just leaped on it when I saw it was 72cms..

Oooh wow, it fits in a corsa? That's kind of amazing!

If it's any help though the information I was given really did imply there weren't going to be any structural changes and it was implied that the carrycot from the v3 may well retrofit onto the v2 when the carrycots appear that is.

Oh well..!
I shall pretend I never heard of v3 and just be grateful!
And yes, I couldn't believe it did fit but it's fantastic - we've got an uppababy vista at the moment and its not much bigger and feels much lighter and more manoeuvrable.

That is amazing that the Nipper fits in a Corsa. I think you have a late V2 one too. The 72cms ones have been out nearly a year now.

The harnesses on my v2 fit my 4 month olds fine - maybe they changed too when the v2 got narrower?

Report
Tiggywunkle · 14/05/2013 23:05

No, because I had a narrow V2 and they were ginormous!

Have done lots of research on V2 and V3 nipper double and have now pre-ordered a V3 from Practical Pushchairs who have been really great. Went for v3 as there have been issues with the brake on the v2's and think the bright new colours funky. Really excited and keen to get and although there is still no definate date I do think from what OutnAbout and Practical Pushchairs say it will be June - worth waiting for i hope!

I just preordered the nipper v3 from irentstuff.co.uk cheaper than practical pushchairs! They told me they are expecting them in about 10 days. I can't wait ;)

From what I have researched over the internet the new V3 is slimmer in comparison to the V2 and it also has more colors available to it that aren't so bland. The other key feature is that it has a mesh to blackout for the baby to sleep in darkness and you can add carrycots to it this time. On the previous edition you could not!

I ordered the mojito green from iRentStuff.co.uk and got a free double basket which is perfect for all the stuff I need for the twins! It was also cheaper than anywhere else! www.irentstuff.co.uk/view/out-n-about-nipper-double-v3
