Hi, thinking of bidding on eBay for one. One seller used only for toddlers, and says her back seat doesn't recline. Can you confirm that I need a different attachment for a newborn (in carrycot)? If so what is it called (so can check prices to buy separately? And if you can be bothered, approx how old does baby start using toddler seat again?

Thank you

You dont need anything extra as such. The doubles kit moves to the front ie on top for newborn mode. The baby then lies flat on the main seat underneath the doubles kit. You can buy a cocoon for the baby should you wish, but blankets would do fine too. Once the baby is around 5-6 months old you will find they start to outgrow the newborn space. Then the baby needs to go underneath in the doubles kit. This is where you have an issue with there being no recline. The P&Ts seats are largely interchangeable - at least the earlier sporty looking type IYKWIM and I know people have added Sport and Hammerhead reclining seats to the Explorer for a 6-12 month old baby. Otherwise your young baby will struggle to nap comfortably.

Tiggy - thanks for advice (belatedly) You have me. Incidence to bid on a buggy which was not advertised as taking carrycot or reclining - and I got a bargain!! Owners meet realised Wink

For others looking for advice I'm thrilled with it!! Might take Tiggy's advice and get a reclining seat for rear, but with DD at CM/nursery school most days an being a good walker might just let baby use recline seat when necessary.
