Are there enough Scoot owners to make a scoot discussion thread?

So, my questions to other scoot owners are:

Do you have the stokke footmuff or sleeping bag and does it work well?

Are you finding it hard to lift the front wheels to get up on the kerb?

How old are your dcs? Do older toddlers fit? My DS is 13 months and hasn't got loads of room above his head.

Is the active position upright enough in your opinion?

And other thoughts, pros and cons?

Should I have bought a bee?

Absolutely not to your Bee question. In fact I have had a love hate relationship with my Bee for a year now.....I like its neatness especially the fold, but I hated the lightness of it and how I had wheels off the ground when cornering. The Scoot is the first pushchair I think may convince me to sell the Bee because the fold and lightness are comparable.

My 4 year old was sat in the Scoot really happily last night. She's 107cms tall and couldn't reach the footrest yet. So I wouldn't worry about your 13 month old. I could tip her up easily - no problem parent and forward facing but I do have good arm muscles!!
The Active position seems great to be TBH. I have seen much much worse. Its pretty upright and I dont have any issue with it at all.

Right now....fresh out of the box...

Cons
The footrest is soooo fiddly to fit......
There's no calf support for a sleeping smaller child.
The way the front of the seat folds up and down is a pain - especially if the seat is off the chassis and you need to open it!! You have to put it back on the chassis to open (I tried because I needed the harness altering - best done with the seat fully open but I had removed it from the chassis).
Horrible small plastic wheels.
I hate the missing chunk out of the handlebar for the cupholder - WHY didn't they put a blanking plate on it.
Equally I hate the other socket / hole in the fabric - I think for a parasol??
Just two seating positions - I tend not to use a lie flat sleeping position so a midway one would have been useful.

Pros
Small, light, neat folded PF, good sized basket
HUGE seat
Long leg length with a choice of heights in both directions
I like how the changing bag can clip underneath
Seems easy to push even with a heavy child on board.
Looks well made and good quality.
Recline - simple and easy to do
Attention to detail is good

Ask me again when I have used it in a few weeks time!!

Glad to hear your 4 yo was comfy.

The footrest is soooo fiddly to fit yes it is! I can't get ours off again now and you do need to if you want to change seat directions.
There's no calf support for a sleeping smaller child Yes this is a shame. Luckily my DS is long enough that his knees just about reach the edge of the seat so flop over fairly comfortably.

Not so bothered about the way the seat folds I thought that was clever.

Agree about the wheels!

I hate the missing chunk out of the handlebar for the cupholder - WHY didn't they put a blanking plate on it or give us a cup holder?!

Equally I hate the other socket / hole in the fabric - I think for a parasol?? Is that what it's for? I wondered...

Agree with all the pros. The seat height is the biggest pro for me, along with reversible seat and relatively light.

Really no problem with tipping? My DH has been complaining about this too and he's really strong!

I dont know if its for a parasol...I am only guessing - its only on one side. I can't see anything in the instructions to explain where there's a hole in the fabric....

I have to say, I dont really get the seat height part. I can't see that the seat is any higher than any other pushchair....but I am going to get several of my pushchairs out and see how it compares. I would have said other pushchair seats were higher. My DD can hop in and out of the Scoot but she can't get into some other pushchairs.

No problem with tipping at present - we will see how we get on. You should try tipping the June or a City Select!

Ah yes must be for the parasol. I'm sure the seat is quite a hit higher than my friend's bee but I don't have loads of others to compare it to

The Bee is unusually low though!

How are you finding your scoot tiggy now you've had it a while? What colour did you get btw? Is it going to stay in your collection?

DS is still very happy in ours. I do wish it had a calf rest and more recline positions, but we've had lots of happy outings in it and I can't complain.

I got a red Scoot and yes it's staying in our collection for now. I really wish there was a calf rest or lift / tilt able leg rest because DS looks uncomfy sleeping but I guess a lot of strollers have the same issue. A semi recline would have been good - its a bit of a dramatic drop for a sleepy child ie awake but wanting to sleep. I rarely use lie flat but am forced to with the Scoot.
My Scoot has a vibration when it's pushed. Apparently its pattern on the wheels!! It's irritating though.
How are you finding yours? What colour did you get? Is yours staying?

Yeah it's staying for now... Ours is the beige one. Yesterday I discovered if you have the raincover folded on top of the hood with the popper done up behind you can get a semi recline as the popper holds the back in a nice sleepy child position. Don't know if it'd work again though, or with a heavier child. I keep lurking in the pushchair section though, I am obviously thinking it's not completely ideal. I think for what we need now- parent facing, light as poss and compact fold, it's prob the best option.

Haven't noticed a vibration though. You must have super smooth pavements near you, ours are so bumpy I don't think I'd notice.

I notice the vibration on smooth floors more than outside TBH.
The raincover trick sounds neat - I rarely use a raincover though.
Glad yours is staying for now.
