Pushchairs

waiting for a baby jogger city versa ...

I've not seen it yet, but like what I've read online: easy fold, faces either way, will hopefully last out the pushchair years... although it is heavier than bjcm. Anyone got any positive / negative thoughts? I'd like a red one!

Hello, Seaside, I am waiting to see it too. Let me know when you manage to get hold of it. Cheers

Yes it seems great. I have played with both the regular and GT versions and love it. Its as near a perfect pushchair as you can get. I have both on order. I think the regular version should be here in about two weeks. The GT version is going to be on display at Manchester Baby Show on the Ladybugs stand which is really exciting because I don't believe it's been seen in public before. The GT Versa at present is a limited edition to see how well it sells and all stock has now been allocated to stores. There's tons of information here under the middle green button. It's just so easy to use, a one handed fold, big seat, huge basket, handbrake, reversible seat, fods flat with the seat on in either direction, big hood, carrycot and car seat options, magnetic peekaboo windows and easy to manoeuvre. I absolutely think the Versa, along with the Easywalker June, Peach Blossom 2 and probably the YoYo are my pushchairs of the year...

Hello hpbp! Would be great to be buggy buddies :) I will keep you posted

Tiggywunkle You are clearly an expert! Can I pick your brains about a few things? From what you've seen, do you think the GT makes much of a difference? sounds like mainly the wheels? I'm waiting for a shop near here to get a delivery of the non-GT ones so I can have a proper look, but may run out of patience and order online anyway - sounds like it will be mid september for first availability, and not sure I can wait longer for GT as I don't have a pram yet...

Looks from first link like the carrycot bit sits on the frame and you take the pushchair bit off, rather than sitting on top of the pushchair? I presume same for the non-GT? I like this much better than the sitting-on-the-pushchair types.

Does the max 22.7 kg child weight sound good? Would be perfect to never have to get another pushchair ...

Yeah that's a really good child weight, my statistically large 5-on-friday year old is 22kg most things are tested to 15kg. Far as I know the pushchair seat clips on in the same place as the carrycot on the versa (unlike the other baby joggers) so it's one or the other. I like the look of that better too.

I think the gt will make a difference personally but equally the normal version will probably be robust enough for mostly urban use. I would wait for the gt if you plan to keep it and never get another pushchair if it were me...

The normal and GT versions are identical apart from the wheels, logos, chassis colour and fabric colours. So they both work the same way.

Yes, the seat lifts off easily and the carrycot gets put into the seat sockets.

22.7kgs is very good for a child weight. I am sure it will only get certified to 15kgs here in the UK but my heavy, tall almost 4 year old is nowhere near 22.7kgs so it would easily last until the end of your pushchair days.

For every day use, the regular Versa will be fine. The GT wheels are more for anyone who does regular off roading or for someone who likes to be prepared :)

Thanks tiggywunkle and ihateparties Ive done some more reading and think it might be worth waiting for the gt too as we really like country walks (pre-baby anyway) - could be my perfect pushchair. Can't find any concrete info on uk release date though. Perhaps we can just manage with a sling for a bit, but I'd rather have it ready

The regular Versa is due in the UK I believe in just under two weeks. The GT is due about 6 weeks later so approx the end of October. Bear in mind the GT is a limited edition of one batch to start with, so if you want one, make sure you have ordered one. Ladybugs I believe are taking names but no money as yet. I know anklebiters, Winstanleys and I think itsababy have stock allocated. I don't know anywhere down south.

It's great to have it ready but you'd be irked a few months down the line if you happened to really wish you'd got the gt one. Can you maybe borrow something to have ready for the short term?

tiggywunkle you truly are a fountain of knowledge - how do you know so much!! Thanks for sharing with me. ihateparties you are completely right about waiting - and I've found somewhere to preorder. Now just fingers crossed there'll be no delays ...

I love the look of the versa and am definitely going to order one, but not sure whether to go for the gt version. Does anyone know if it's a lot heavier? I don't do much serious "off roading" but there are a lot of unfinished paths and roads by me so it may be worth getting just for that. Also, can anyone recommend a good online retailer, or do you know if John Lewis will be taking orders and getting an allocation? Thank you!

The GT is 1kg heavier...or is it 1.1kgs heavier - 13kgs off the top of my head.

The only retailers I know of with GT allocation are Ladybugs, Winstanleys Pramworld, Anklebiters in Sheffield and I think itsababy. All seem to have good reputations. I am sure there are more but I don't know who. JL I believe are getting the regular Versa but because the GT s a limited edition run to start with, I suspect JL may not get it. It's worth a call, but I know the others are getting it.

Sgj14 I'm in same position as you about gt wheels, and have decided to wait for them, although soothing john lewis reassurance is quite appealing re the standard version!

What accessories do you think are generally worth getting? I'm getting rain hood and carseat adaptors but I'm not bothering with a footmuff for now as the carrycot will take us through the winter, but are belly bars / trays to put juice in etc a good plan? First ever pushchair, so I have no clue about all the gadgets, bags etc etc - and would like to take advantage of online discounts rather than waiting and buying later - although perhaps this is a better plan.

Just get the raincover for the carrycot / seat unit and worry about a footmuff in spring / the following autumn. Plus your car seat adaptors. You wont need to think about belly bars or anything else until then unless you want a good cup holder! The Baby Jogger parent console is useful, and JL Childress do some nice ones too.

I think I will order the gt version, as I'm sure it'll be something I regret not waiting for if I get the regular version. I will be going to JL on Wednesday (to return the bjcm double I bought back in June and haven't actually used once!) so I will see what they are planning on getting in, and when.

The difference is that if you dont like the Versa GT, I am sure it will resell well because of there only being one batch, and there will be plenty of regular Versa's to swap it for.

There are just so few pushchairs which fold with the seat on parent facing....and which have a nice neat fold. I am fed up turning seats around and the Bee just feels so rickety and can't cope well with our school run - I have a wheel off the ground coming down the path.

I'm sick of my carboot being filled with pushchairs, pushchair parts and adaptors. I'm hoping this will fit the bill for all my needs- not asking much is it Smile

can anyone tell me whether the maxi cosi goes onto the frame directly or with the pushchair seat in place?

Just been in John Lewis on Oxford street. They should have one on display there in about 2 weeks. 17th I think they said.
