3 wheels good?

I had a M&P pramette for dd1 and it broke my heart to turn her round when she outgrew the pram bit and we lost our face to face contact. So for dd2, fast growing out of the prammy setting, I'm keen to get a second hand parent-facing pushchair, ideally for less than £100.

I've done loads of searches on here and elsewhere and my fave is Britax vigour so far. There seem to be more 3 wheelers available - can anyone explain why this might be preferable to the 4/ to be avoided? And does the fact they seem to have "retired" the vigour count against it - i.e. are they actually crap?!

I live in a hilly town, mainly need pram for accompanying walks to school, so won't need to put in car much. One handed pushing is important, manouevrability (sp?!) and having high handle (dh over 6ft). I also want a proper recline not a bucket seat which I think rules out Quinny Buzz, Hauck Infinity and older Vigours. I've been put off Loola by the hundreds of disgruntled threads on here! Anything else I should look out for?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Jane reversus, maxi cosi mura. mutsy 4rider light. All are fab options for a parent who walks a lot and handles on these all adjust tall enough for your needs.

Thanks for the tips.

I've heard that 3 wheelers are good for off-road stuff. We'll use a Bushbaby for country walks etc, so buggy is just for town. Would we be best avoiding a 3 wheeler in that case - or does it not make much difference? I guess I'd like to know if 3 wheels is ever a disadvantage?

I've got a 3 wheeler Teutonia and it's great. I find it really good for manoeuvring through shops and people. My only other experience is of Maclarens, and there is no comparison as to how easy they are to steer around tight corners.

The only problem I've had was when going down a steep hill on a pavement with a really steep sideways camber - the pushchair nearly fell over. But that's only happened once in 11 months (and we live somewhere with quite a lot of hills).

Looking at your OP, a Teutonia would match all your requirements (which were pretty similar to mine) but there aren't many places that sell them in this country - mostly independent retailers. You can find a list on the Teutonia website.
