Baby Jogger Mini for newborns

nparkin · 20/10/2010 17:23

I am thinking of getting a baby jogger for my first baby as it has brillaint reviews and we have limited space and money so I do not want a large travel system also we have a small boot in my Peugeot 107.
My only concern is that it won't be good for a newborn to lie down in can anyone tell me if this is the case or is it ok? And how long will I need to worry about a newborn lying down?

Any advice would be great

Thanks!!

It would be fine. Maybe buy a newborn head hugger

You could also get the carrycot for baby and remove seat unit so it's more like a pram. That's what I plan to do next time

You can get a bjcm quite cheap at mo from boots or tesco. Check out the other thread on this topic for discount codes

My friend's 12 week old travelled in my BJCM when they were here for a visit recently and they were happy with her comfort and security in it.

It is a fab buggy, I am on many thread saying the same things! I should work in marketing for baby jogger!

my friend has one and she isn't that happy with it for her newborn. she said she finds it a bit flimsy and it rocks about a bit when it is laid flat, i guess cos the baby is so small so doesn't really weigh it down too much yet

I had it from birth for my twins, it lies very flat imo, I was quite happy with that side of it. But I got sheepskins for them as it's a bit hard underneath. Or a well padded footmuff would do.

I'd get a sheepskin liner or a decent cosy toes to line the seat, then it should be fine

If you're only going to buy one buggy, then make sure it is the BCMJ. It is fabulous. Get the carry cot add on if you would really like to, but tbh those first few weeks are over so quickly, the buggy will soon be fine with a sheepskin liner/footmuff.
