Hi,

We are being lent a loola pram by a friend so we just need to get a buggy for when it is a few months old and out of the pram.

We need a buggy that does the following:

  • doesn't cost more than a couple of hundred pounds (and preferably less)
  • fits in a smallish car boot
  • can carry some shopping underneath it
  • is suitable for me (shortarse) and husband (tall) to both push it
  • can cope with being easily put on and off buses
  • can cope with an urban life - eg uneven pavements, rubbish strewn streets etc

Any recommendations gratefully received.

I'd say a zapp, but thats no use for a tall person.
I would consider the old style bee, they are coming in very reasonable second hand these days, or maybe a baby jogger city mini?

I'd say a Zapp too but the handles aren't height adjustable. If you want to review a new Zapp Xtra you can get one for free on www.quinnycasters.com/

Have a look at the phil & teds smart. Very lightweight for getting around the city. Folds small, easy to push. Smallish basket underneath though.

along with a zapp i would say a petit star zia plus. like the standard zia it reclines (unlike the original zapp) and the plus has height adjustable handles. slightly cheaper than a zapp too and our zia is really good

Definitely a BJCM. Best lightweight pram apart from a Maclaren quest.

Maclaren techno xt. Adjustable handles, shopping basket is ok and very manoeuvrable!

I vote for xt as well don't think you can beet it.Although if you think it's too heavy my dp who is well over six feet managed ok with a quest.

Also Jane energy is a lovely buggy and lighter than an xt

Babyjogger city mini? or Babyjogger City Micro if you don't mind not being able to lie flat?
I have a Britax B-Mobile for when DS is at my in-laws once a week. It's not expensive, folds and unfolds really easily and is easy to manouvre. Basket is not fantastic though.
Or a Nipper 360? Or a Mountainbuggy?
