Joovy caboose ultralite vs. P&T Sport

HELP!!

I have a ds who will be just 2 when my ds2 is born. We need to buy a car seat anyway for baby. Ds1 is still very young, enjoys his pram, but rarely falls asleep in pram.

Have been eyeing P&T sport as a potential - light, easy to get on bus, looks nice, easy to move etc.

BUT....just spotted Joovy caboose ultralite, which is a very good idea....and would be able to stick carseat on pram while having toddler on pram too.

BUT....is it better than P&T? Am I shooting myself in foot by not having a relaxng seat for ds1 to fall asleep in? Will it be crap over the winter? Will I be faced with multiple tantrums by ds1 trying to kamikaze off of on board seat? Is that even possible??

Thanks!

Did your kids stay in for a relatively long time?
My ds is a big boy and is probably about 6 months bigger than his actual age. Is there quite a lot of room?

well my son is huge, hes three and a half and in size 5-6 clothes, hes very tall,he fits in both seats, but im sure hes proberly to heavy for the back seat,i did hate the p&t in baby mode,ie with tot on top and baby underneath, never felt vey confident in top seat(as he was so big).also it can be haevy and alkward to get on and of a bus.

Eeek, that's what I'm most worried about, as don't drive so bus is only mode of transport (plus they have just helpfully changed all of the buses to accommodate only 1 pram at a time, as opposed to the 3 they used to carry - buggy space is much smaller).

Thanks buggyjo - very helpful :)

Joovy Caboose very unsuitable for a newborn as you can only use it with the carseat as well as being horribly uncomfortable for the toddler. Your best bet is probably the P&T which is not great for the newborn stage but pretty fab once the baby can sit up.

Another option is to get a good sling (a mei-tai or ergo-style, NOT baby bjorn) and carry the baby while pushing the toddler, then when they're both a bit bigger you can take another look at doubles.
