the sport is blue camo with EVERYTHING... and only £200!
the vibe is only £330 but i'd still have to get the cocoon...
both second hand obviously,dd is 2,ds is due sept...what to do,what to do!?

Well, I have both ( - although not quite as wantanly extravagant as it sounds as the Vibe was a joint purchase with my siblings and is kept at my parents' house)....and I much prefer the Sport. It steers more easily, goes up and down kerbs with very little effort - and was considerably cheaper. Only downside is the stiffness of the brake.

thankyou! the brake actually seems to be a bit of a stiking point for me...i like the idea of a handle bar brake....

i loved the vibe brake. there's a knack to it, but once you've cracked it, it's ace. i swapped my vibe for a mountain buggy double and the brake is the only thing i thought was better about the vibe.

saying that, i do regret shelling out the extra money for vibe and was saying to dh that we should've got the sport.

check that your DD fits in the top seat when set up for a newborn as my DD is 2 and she is too tall for me to get the hood up properly (E3) and rain cover on. Will be fine when DD2 is 6 months (not due till Oct) and can sit in the rear seat but had to buy something else to see me through until then.
Not the end of the world for me as we have had P&T from new and have had plenty of wear out of it but flipping annoying that I can't use it as you are sposed to!

ummm, i had wondered...what did you get to tide you over?
i will be using a sling for a while maybe that'd keep me going?!

I have got an out n about nipper 360 double for the interim, will flog it when DD2 is 6 months providing she is happy to sit in the back row of P&T. We live a fairly rural life and I walk miles with the dog so needed something off road - am well impressed with how sturdy it is (built it last week) but obviously not used it yet!

umm,ive heard that they are great!
no good for us though, we need to be off road for ruralness and slimline for our tiny victorian front door!
i wonder...will the head height be a real pain, will i even NEED a double for those first few months? when do you reckon i can start using bottom seat for the baby?!

argggghhhhhh!!!!

head-height not so much of a prob with vibe and sport as it was with E3 IIRC.

bottom seat - started using with my ds when he was 4m. i scanned a few threads about it here on MN and that seems to be the case for everyone

i have a 15m gap and didn't get a double for first three months. but that was because my dh is a teacher, ds was born in june and so both of us were around cause of summer holidays BUT when he went back to work it was invaluable. really, a must have. just being able to get out and WALK. god, saved my life. yes, worth it, def.

incidentally, i sold my Vibe recently and replaced with a Mountain Buggy Urban Double - which is MUCH better. and fits through my narrow front door fine. and takes up less room in there than the vibe did cause is shorter. and much easier to fold than P&T - tbh honest it is easier for me to fold MB and bring it in than it was for me to push whole of P&T into our hall....

oh, and i would get sport over vibe. £130 plus cocoon is a lot of money to pay for a brake

thanks tyaca the head height is good news! and thanks for the perspective re getting out of the house with two in one buggy-likely to keep me sane!

smart buggy was news, but at least dp thought id decided to be sensible!

its true, i should get the sport eh, still quite nice...

I've just started putting my 4 1/2 mo in the back seat of the Sport for short periods but tbh mostly use my Maclaren and a sling.....

P&T say 6 months for the rear seat but then guidelines say a lot of things that most of us find a work around. You could always pad the baby in a bit in the rear seat - not ideal but prob would work.
I would try and get to a shop to try one before you buy as we were no better off with a sport, not tried a vibe though as couldn't find one in Bath to try. The nipper is 77cm and just fits through our front door (thankfully!)
