just moved into a bungalow..it has an immersion heater and a boiler for heating only..and a cold water tank in loft space. the trouble is we have no real child water coming in...it seems okay in one bathroom but in kitchen and other bathroom there's just a trickle. I can't use the washing machine as a fault comes up due to not enough water entering machine....even the outside water trap doesn't seem to work Sad Sad Any ideas before I blow next week's shopping budget on a plumber???

Air lock in the pipes. If you google you should find the info. You can do it youself i did once but cannot remember the life of me how.

Usually when people screw down the stopcock, it is because there is a noisy ballcock in the loft cold tank. Old and worn ballcocks are noisy. They usually last about 20 years.

I am often filled with gloom that there are people who are willing to restrict their water supply rather than replace a worn part.

A new one costs a few pounds. This is one of the best. Read the reviews. If you want an inferior one, you might save a couple of pounds.
