Painting bedrooms/hall - same colour or different?

Right, here is another totally minor and inconsequential concern I'm currently wrestling with.

We need to sort out paint colour/s for our loft and hallway. For the hallway, I'm just going to use the colour we have again, which is an off white type colour. My dilemma is whether or not we just paint the bedrooms exactly the same colour, or if I add colour of some sort.

The same colour would be easiest, but I don't want the house to look too dull and characterless. Any opinions on the same or different colours for the loft bedrooms would be very much appreciated! Thanks

White in a hallway may show every mark, scuff, etc. Something with a bit of colour might be better.
