As a rough idea, how much should I expect to pay per square metre for a straightforward single storey kitchen extension with sloping, lean to style roof, excluding kitchen fittings. In Shropshire, so Midlands/north west border.

We're in Staffordshire and have accepted a quote of 1100 per square metre, although it is DH's mate so is slightly lower than normal rates.

when I had my work done, I had a spreadsheet of the WHOLE project and the 1500 was right through to fully decorated

Not too bad I guess, I was thinking £1200 plus VAT but not decorated and without kitchen units and appliances (including fitting of units but not supply of)
