Walk in Carrie wardrobes - how to create one

I have been noticing that a lot of new build properties seem to have a novel arrangement for creating a walk in 'dressing area' eg this floorplan shown here in the show home.

I think it might work in our bedroom - its large at 20 x 18 feet. There isn't really anywhere else we could have a walk in built due to having windows on two walls, a fireplace on another and a door on another. Its a Victorian house, and apart from the kitchen, we are quite traditional with furniture etc, I love William Morris and simple oak furniture.

Thoughts?? Naffness? Useful?
