6 inch brass door (butt) hinges - where can I buy?

Ever so exciting I know but I need to source these and cannot seem to find anything. Most go up to 4 inch but I would think that heavier doors do need a bigger hinge.

Where can I find?

pretty sure I have never seen them, but you can get hinges made to order £££££

It is more usual to put three or four four-inch hinges on heavy doors. Hinges are available for heavy doors, usually fire doors up to about 120kg weight door as standard. What does yours weigh, and what are its dimensions?

Hinges for heavy doors are usually fire resistant, so most often steel. You can get stainless ones with PVD brass. I prefer lift-off hinges for heavy doors as they are otherwise very difficult to remove and re-hang when carpeting or moving large furniture.

A 120kg door weighs over 18 stone, which is a lot.

here you are

that a 23-stone door. You'll need a crane.

I love google ;)

I did check screwfix and toolstation as the obvious choices, but nothing bigger than 102mm there

I think I'd rather save my pennies and just use more of these, though it is harder to get them lined up correctly

Are you sure you want brass? It's softer than steel. I put brass hinges on my shutters and regret it as one has bent. Previously I've used steel and painted it a brass colour and that was better I think.

I'd go for the Stainless, possibly with PVD brass coating. They say it even withstands salty coastal exposure.

I still want to know how heavy Maggie's door is.

Forgive me for abandoning this thread!

Piglet, don't know weight but dimensions about 2 x 0.75 m.

Don't have to be brass, in fact saw some nice steel ones, just not right size.

Piglet and ouryve, thanks for those links. Expensive hinges but think they will do the job!
