Light filtering blind for over-looked hallway stairs

I'm looking for a blind to go over a stairs window on the first floor of our house. This window overlooks windows in the house next door and I would rather not look into their house (or have them see me in my pjs!) each time I am up and down the stairs. What I am lookig for is a blind that lets the light in to the house (it is a dark hallway) but restricts people seeing into our house. Does such a thing exist?

They're net curtains, aren't they?

Maybe some of that stick on film that makes the window translucent instead if transparent - makes it look frosted?

Pretty sure ikea does something like this, may be possible to see through the blinds when inside has lights on though...

Ikea also does frosted film, or look at Brume for more decorative window film.

Ikea do a thin blind that lets light in, we have on in our kitchen instead of nets. I think it's this one but it's hard to tell from the photo. It's like a very fine net, no pattern, lets plenty of light in but you can't see through it.

Frosting will allow them to see if you are wearing your PJs (or not) even though you will not be able to see out, as you are closer.

Would you consider a venetian. or plantation blind angled up to the sky?

Would a half-height curtain help?

There is a metal venetian blind up at the moment (courtsey of the previous owner) but it is a bit of a faff remembering to open/shut the slats. I was hoping for a permanent blind that could be left down.
