Clock House

Hello. A newbie here! Husband and I are property hunting in the beckenham area as we're looking to settle somewhere nice and quiet to start a family and this seems like a good place. We're in Dulwich at the moment which is great but expensive! Today we saw a nice modest house in the clock house area but don't know the area very well at all. On first impression it seems ok. Not as nice as some of the roads we've looked at in beckenham but I'd like to hear from anyone who lives in/knows the area.

It is one of the few areas where we could afford a house as opposed to a flat but I want to know if its safe for me in the evenings and a good area for children? I work shifts and would be travelling from either Kent House or Clock House late in the evening a few days a week.

Any info would be really helpful. Thanks!

How many of these threads have you started?

Know this thread is quite old but thought if give my thoughts anyway. Did you end up buying?

Clock house and Kent House are on the Beckenham / Penge boarders. However they are both on the nicer side of Penge as they are near Beckenham! Kent House station is surrounded by really lovely homes and is well lit, Clock house station is on the main road.

I lived there for 18 months and would recommend it for a family. The area is improving rapidly, there's a very nice deli next to clock house station (called Bluebell or Blueberry) and Beckenham itself is very nice.

You really want to stay clear of Penge High Street, so let Kent House be as far as you'll go. Smile
