Where to find a shallow sofa or alternative seating?

We have a small extension that we want to use as a playroom as DD1's toys are threatening to take over the house and DC2 is due soon. We wanted to have a TV on a unit with a sofa opposite, but the old sofa we have is far to deep. It's 95cm in depth and fills half the room.

The other 2 walls have a folding doors into the dining room and doors to the garden, so we can't really put anything in front of them.

So, does anyone know where I can buy a sofa that is only about 70cm deep or some alternative form of seating that would be comfortable for children to sit on? I'd prefer a sofa with a back as the wall has a radiator on.

Thanks.

We had one of our four Club Sofas custom made to be shallower than the others by a shop called InHouse in Edinburgh.

Did it all online/by phone.

we're looking for something shallow, and narrow for a bay window. Most sofas are so deep that we've switched our search now to a chaise longue. These have only a partial back but can still be fairly comfy.

Argos do a tub sofa which would be the right depth, and a foam sofa bed which is slightly smaller.

Our Ikea sofa is smaller than average. Will find a link and see the dimensions...

Confused after all that it's 88cm deep so no good for you

How about a small wicker sofa or a low blanket box? I have a similar small corner and was thinking of a wicker garden bench like the one in this set.

Ikea used to do a great little sofa that was very compact, like a waiting room or staffroom chair IYSWIM, like a Lillberg but smaller, you may score one on ebay if you look out - here you go in fact!

How about this sort of thing:

comes in various sizes.

they also do this style and a couple of other styles. prices are pretty eye watering but you might be able to find a cheaper version somewhere?

I also love this small sofa

It's 77cm deep. My DH isn't keen though, and maybe not the ideal thing for children.

I'm converting our dining room into a playroom and have been looking for a shallow sofa for ages. I managed to find this website and have just ordered one of these www.comfy-living.co.uk/product.asp?sid=1&ID=1058

Its only 71cm deep and come in loads of colours. They do another style with cushions too. Probably wont last forever but kids grow and things change so that's okay.

Hope the link works
