Replacing kitchen doors when you have lots of panel type bits

Hello

I have read about lots of people on here replacing kitchen doors when their existing layout and carcasses are still fine.

The kitchen in the house I have bought was quite expensive, is well designed etc...and has nice granite worktops and good appliances. I just don't like the door colour and finsh at all. It's either maple or maple effect and a bit too orange gloss for my taste.

What I was wondering is what people do about end panels and not standard "bits" eg around an American style fridge or larder type cupboards. Can they still be replaced or once things become bespoke is there no point doing this just to save over a new kitchen.

Thanks for any advice.

I was wondering the same. I hate the kitchen in the house we are moving to but there are big end panels and spaces between the doors and drawers so I can't see how door replacement would work.

I'm thinking of painting all the cabinets and putting nice new handles on.

Bit of a bump but I also had another question if anyone reads this....

Anyone that painted (either professionally sprayed or by hand) their doors/kitchen did the paint coating wear ok or did it chip easily? I have children so it will get knocked....I am also interested in the finish - does it look like a painted kitchen that could have been installed or does it clearly look "painted over" if you know what I mean.

A few years ago I had a wooden kitchen spray painted in a workshop, I took in the doors and removed all the trims and had them done too.

They sprayed 2 coats of very hard wearing paint of a colour that they matched for me (French Blue), they also provided a tin of paint to take home to finish of anything I had been unable to remove.

It was brilliant, most people were unaware that I had 'done' the kitchen, am shortly moving into a tired looking kitchen and would have no hesitation in doing the same thing again.
