Have any of you sourced your own Granite? Did it cause probs with kitchen supplier?

Plus can you recommend a company that supplies it at a decent price.
I have looked on internet and it seems much cheaper to just order it ourself rather than through kitchen company, but of course i don't know if a company is trustworthy or not.
Also did it cause hassle not having all the fitting not under one umbrella?

I sourced my own and have ended up with a fab man who grinds his own! he is so brilliant. It hasn't caused any issues with the rest of the kitchen, the company fitting are fine with the arrangement. I got, what I think is a fab price.
Where are you based? If you are close I can give you his details.

I did ask a kitcehn supplier if it would be ok to source our own composite - he said it would be an absolute disaster and if I insisted he would refuse to supply me with a kitchen and also said would would not allow me to source my own appliances - so I went elsewhere and saved quite a lot of money - his loss really. Don't forget you are the customer!
