white wooden floors in kitchen

does anyone have white wooden floors in their kitchen. we are thinking of doing these in our new kitchen but I am worried about how dirty they will get and will it be a nightmare to keep clean?? have 3 kids who love being in garden and will be coming in and out. no dogs yet - but maybe at some point in future! some people seem to think black is worse that white???? any advice please.

I have black floor in my kitchen which is very forgiving - I think white would be an utter nightmare, especially given the circumstances you describe.

I'd only have this if you are perpared to mop the floor every night. Wooden floors have more contours so a white wooden floor but be a lot harder to keep clean than a white tiled one, for instance.

a WHITE kitchen floor and 3 dc and possibly dogs too. I am in awe at you for even considering such a thing.

A black floor otoh is a brilliant idea - it seems to be what my floor is always tying to default to anyway

my mil has white painted everything (sorta shabby chic) because she reckons it's easier to clean with her dogs. She repaints a lot though - and doesn't have small children at home...

if you are into scruffy farmhouse chic then maybe (though no self respecting farmhouse would actually have white wooden floors). it will scuff adn chip and generally look tatty v. quickly

I have got white laminate floor in my kitchen this oneand conservatory.

it looks lovely when it is just freshly mopped. Lovely. Unfortunately it does get dirty very easily - although in the floors defence I do have two 20 month old girls who like to throw their dinner from their highchairs.

I've had it for almost four years and the laminate itself its worn in bits (mainly where we have a computer chair on wheels) so for the price I don't think its done too bad. However when I replace it, it won't be with white. I really wanted a high gloss white but I really don't think anyone who actually walks in their kitchen could keep that clean.
