French coaching in West Kent?

Ds's school, he is year 1, do a little French with the children. He loves it and is constantly asking me 'what is this in French?' etc... I have very weak French and struggle to answer his questions. I would like to do a bit more to nurture this innate interest.

Anybody recommend either i) good resource such as DVD or ii) Good after school club in Sevenoaks/Tunbridge Wells area?

Thanks

Skoldo do a nice book that comes with a CD. Each 'lesson' teaches 5 new words or a question/answer (name, age etc) or a song. It's not too pricy either if you go for the workbook. They also do Spanish.

The Elementary book and Book 1 are great. The less said about Book 2, the better!

We went to our local library and picked up several French CDs etc in the children's section, which DS loved. Wouldn't worry too much about coaching in Year 1!

I don't know really. I was considering becoming a teacher for la Jolie Ronde (it's a sort of franchise) a while ago and I observed a few classes - Sat mornings at a local school, classes by age group. It seemed Ok - short classes, games, songs and so on. The kids all seemed pretty engaged in what was going on.

Ok interesting. The more I think about it, maybe I should revisit my own French and then I can help my children as and when they show interest.

So if anyone knows of any good adult courses whether online, dvd, cd or actual classes please post.

My son does La Jolie Ronde on Sat's and loves it. His cousin does it plus Ive seen it on lots of sites. also been going over 20 years and won lots of awards...so not a a fly by night thing. As well as ds cousin doing it I like it as it was all about having fun and songs etc... ds loves singing and dont think he's realised he's learning at the same time! He's done 10 lessons and knows colours, shapes, family members, parts of the body - comes home with a lovely activity book and has to a page of "homework" which is colouring or dot to dot stuff.

he enjoys it and cant wait to go each week so Im happy - btw I asked if he wanted to do football, karate or something else but he opted for French!!!
