Easter mobiles - do parents or children make them?

A few weeks ago my son (who is only 3 and in nursery) had to dress up as a bug, so we spent time together drawing big circles and we made the little costume together, he enjoyed it and I thought he looked cute. We turned up for nursery and the other children had costumes that were either been bought or looked like they were made by proffesional costume makers - my son didnt notice but my little cape with black dots on and mask drawn by a three year old kind of stood out.

My daughter who is in reception now has to make an easter mobile (by tuesday - I know i keft it a bit late but thats how I am) I was going to get her to draw eggs and stick them on a hanger - ta da mobile but I have a concern now that my daughter is going to be embarassed by this if everyone else turns up with works of art.

If you have done this sort of thing before do children make these or are they better/adult type things? I dont want a repeat of the bug incident!

at dd's school either the parents make the stuff, or she is in the class of the most artistic and talented 4 year olds the world has ever seen!

I always used to get my DC to do their own craft and art work like this.

If it is a competition then the winner should clearly be one where child has done it.

Our school often has a colouring comp and the class teachers always have a crafty look at possible winners to check the child has actually done it (they know what the children are capable of IYSWIM).

I cannot see the point of you making it tbh. Just let DD lose with the glitter and sequins and it will be great!

At our school the parents make it, with a little help from their child and then the child claims it for their own work. They get the kids to vote on which one is the best and hey presto - the most talented parent child wins.
