I don't know but they are definately doing something, as we have been asked if we can help on science day my the science coordinator.

The secondary school celebrates it with yrs 7 and 8 only, for the week in science lessons by doing special projects. LOADS of effort is put into it.

What have the scientists and engineers done to raise the profile and offer support and exciting ideas in schools? Is there a website or a pack that's been sent out to schools?

DCs primary school does absolutely zilch, but last year DD's preschool had experiments every day during science week. The children loved it!

Oh, we have a science week, an art week, a literacy week and a maths week every year. Just if they want to tie it into some arbitrary date, it needs more publicity.
We had a fabulous, experiment-based science week in October.

Brighton had a science festival over half term that we were heavily involved in too.
