Have been into head to complain about a few things, don't want to go into details. Had a good amicable meeting,think/hope things will improve.

However I feel shit complaining and now think I've gone over to the dark side of 'the nightmare parent' [knowing ex-teacher emoticon]

You're right but don't want to discuss too much as it's not fair for various reasons, school stuff is very identifiable-damn! Some Mumsnet reassurance/support is needed.

As long as it wasn't trivial - somebody stole my dd's lunchbox and subtituted it withan an empty yoghurt pot, and not based on hearsay or gossip, I don't think you've got anything to worry about.

Err no

It wasn't "my son came home with half a shoelace missing" either which I had once.

You're right it wasn't anything like that feeling better already.

I had to complain about an issue on Monday. It was an issue that I felt so strong about, that to not complain I feel that I would have been letting my child down.
If you and your child have had a positive result from the meeting then I would put it to the back of your mind.

Thanks, you do have to put your child 1st as dp has constantly been saying. He's moved on was at the meeting too,we're both happier. It's just me that feels crap,I think it's the ex-teacher thing isn't it. You're torn. Going to have to get a grip got another 13 years ahead of me

I think it depends partly on what you're complaining about and how you go about it - but I'm sure if you felt you'd had an amicable and useful meeting then it was probably fine!

I also think it depends on whether this is something that the teacher should have been able to resolve and you had spoken to him/her about it. I'm not a teacher but I think if I was and my head came to speak to me about something of which I had no knowledge and had not been given the opportunity to put right, I would be annoyed.

I complained about something last week... I think it depends on what it is... ok as long as its not petty etc.

I gave the teacher a nice Christmas present to show no hard feelings!
