Had a letter about school trip to Banksy exhibition and although I was planning to go with my friends sometime, was not planning to take children with me. Can anyone tell me if it is suitable for children age 10/11?

Yes - I am taking my 4 year old to see it, having viewed it with my OH first.

Call the museum if you're worried, but I'd say absolutely YES. It's a great way to get them into art and inspire them in an unstuffy sort of way. There will be some edgy pieces but trust the school to deal with it.

Great, thanks very much for that Smee and Boobalina, I have signed consent slip and feeling rather envious that my DD will see it before me!! I knew mumsnetters would have the inside info!

The school has a superb art club and really great teachers willing to go for it with all aspects of the curriculum. Having moved my DSs from a rather stuffy old fashioned village school where the work was boring to a fab village school, I am constantly delighted with what they are doing and achieving. It was a TOUGH thing to do at the time - I had been chair pta and gov (hoping to improve things...didn't work) but I really don't regret a thing, it has taught me a lot about not putting up with rubbish standards.

I think it's fab they're taking them. Sounds like a great school. I'd be delighted if our school could go, but Bristol's too far away...
