Pencil case, what goes in them for dd Y3 in september

They have their own pencil cases when they start Y3 but nobody seems that clear at what they have to have in their. That includes the teachers I've spoken to. I work in Y4 and all the chidren have different things. The only clear thing seems to be colour pencils, and a rubber. Was thinking a sharpner and ruler. But what do they write with in Y3 still pencils or do they start using pens.
Anyone please help.

pencils

dd1 has the world in hers.

we got a list before she started juniors... pencils (plain and coloured), rubbers, sharpener, ruler (30cm),

mind you, she has scissors and all sorts now - it's sort of accumulated throughout the year.

pencils.
If your dd is anything like mine I wouldn't spend too much neither. Nothing seems to last longer than a week. Ended up getting big bags of pencils from tesco and giving those to her every week.

DD has always had to tae in her own pencil case. She is in Y1 currently and hers has: writing pencils, colouring pencils, sharpener, erasers, short ruler. She isn't allowed felt pens or writing pens yet.

In teh Y3 class I help in they do have felt pens and writing pens also, and glue stick and scissors. Plus they are expected to have a dictionary and calculator I believe.

Thanks, I think she may need a dictionary but we will soon get a list of what they need. Just thinking ahead as I know they need a pencil case but it doesn't tell you what is to be in there. I do know from the children no scissors.

In Y3 they will start to use a pen, but not straight away. I am sure you will be given a list of what they need. In some schools it's a 'proper' fountain pen, in others it's a Berol 'handwriting' (felt-tip) pen. They probably just need pencil, rubber, ruler, coloured pencils.

Also bear in mind that the pencil case usually needs to fit into a drawer or tray, so it ought not to be too round!

she now has.

no rule,
pencil shavings
half as many coloured pencils.
