Following on from my thread about DS struggling with maths in Yr 2...

... I signed him up for Maths Whizz yesterday and he did the assessment. Came out bang on (in fact slightly ahead) for his age in everything bar fractions where he was a year ahead!

And a guy from Maths Whizz phoned me this morning as he wanted to know how I had heard of them from Budapest. So I told him it was down to recommendations on Mumsnet. Had an interesting conversation. He said that children who are good at fractions often have problems with wordy propblems. Bang on in DS's case.
