A Bit of Advice Please

DS started school this year and has been getting homework most nights. One night he'll get letters, the next night he gets numbers. He also has a word tin.

He seems fine with recognising his words, letters and numbers. He writes numbers without any problems. When it comes to letters though, he gets so many that are join the dots. He does these without any problems. When it comes to doing them free-hand, he almost always does them the wrong way round. I get him to rub them out and try again. He gets it eventually. Initially he laughs about it, then he gets fed up. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I be discussing it with his teacher? I'm probably just being neurotic. He's only been at school for a month. Any advice would be welcome.

Reversals are really common throughout infant shcool years. It comes with practice.

Thanks, glad to hear it's common. I'll stop worrying unless his teacher tells me it's a problem.
