Does PE kit come home every week, or just every half-term, or what?

I have my first child, DD, just start in Reception this week, and sent her new PE kit in with her. How often can I expect to see it for washing? Do they send it home once a week, or every term/half-term? I can't for the life of me remember what arrangement we had when I were a lad (except for the many tactics I used to avoid PE altogether - my kit probably stayed pristine from one term to the next!).

We get ours home every half term. I think it varies from school to school, though.

Arse, must find bag and prep it for tomorrow, though, we finally got shoes ...

think it's every term - they really don't get that dirty or sweaty for 30 minutes....or at least dd didn't!

I leave the PE kits at school until half term because if my kids forget theirs they get detention

In our school it comes home every half term but ou can just send your child back in to get it if you want to wash it or check it for sizing.

Reception & Year 1 - bring it home every 2 weeks or so. And it's rarely dirty.

DD is in second year of school and her kit comes home at the end of half term. Even then it is not dirty and definitely doesn't smell or anything.

Sent back twice a week.

This thread is already making me feel better about myself... I was wondering if it would be too bad of me not to wash it for tomorrow. Ah... relief!

I may have mothered a skunk... DS's has the unforgetable aroma of child running under the sun. The T-shirt is white, which doesn't help either.

What gets into your PE kit? I'm wondering if we are talking of a different kit.

It only comes home when the child remembers it. Which is actually very handy. Because it's annoying to have to wash stuff that has only been worn once by a non-smelly reasonably-recently washed child for 40 mins. So I tend to say "oh dear you've forgotten to bring you PE bag home again" only after I've picked them up from school.

So hey....hate me but mine are washed once or twice a month...

Every half term.

And for the first term, the plimsolls had clearly not been used. They don't wear them for indoor PE. And they only go outdoors once in a blue moon.

(grumpy mummy of child who can only fit into £10 Startrite plimsolls and would have been severely P-ed off if she had grown out of them before even wearing them).

Bought home every week after last PE/games lesson. Comes home after 1st pe/games lesson if muddy which is annoying because I haven't a clue how I'm meant to wash and dry and get it back for next lesson!

ours only comes back every term, but we can ask for it to be sent back at half term if we think necessary.
